More Precious than Silver or Gold

"If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. For He was foreknown before the foundatio of the world by has appeared in these last times for the ske of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory so that your faith and hope are in God. " (1 Peter 1:17-21).

How many times have we felt flawed? Like we can't meet some standard set by somebody? I know I have--even today! This morning, I tried so hard to cover my flaws when getting ready for the day, concealing this mark and that spot. In the same way as I tried to cover the flaws in my appearance this morning, we try so hard to cover the flaws in our spiritual lives when really, all we're using is cheap concealer that only rubs off in time, makes the flaw worse, and can't stand the elements. We cannot win when covering our own flaws.

...in walks Jesus...

Despite all our disgusting flaws, the flawless lamb of God chose to redeem us with His precious, precious blood. Not even the most expensive jewel or most pricely metal could buy us. Who else other than Jesus Christ would willingly purchase such a flawed "product" at such a high price--at the price of GOD?

None other than Jesus would do such a thing.

So yeah, we've got loads and loads of flaws. But the more and more we try and cover them up with denial, self-righeousness, or even over-confidence, we just "irritate" the flaw. Remember the song? It holds such beautiful truth: "What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!"

Are you HOLEy? Do you have holes? Do you have flaws? I know I do! Don't you think it's time we let the blood of Christ do it's thing?

Stop trying to cover up your flaws before Christ. He knows they're there.
Let the blood of Christ fully cover you and make over your spiritual life.
Let it wash you and make you whiter than snow.
KNOW that you were bought at a high, high, HIGH price.
Walk in the newness of life! You're covered in the Blood!! Amen??
