Whether it was from a pastor, a friend, a parent, the Word of God, or Ron Kopicko himself, we've heard it.
It is something we all have the ability to do--despite every physical flaw, worldly obstacle, or personality quirk--no matter what.
We might not be able to sing like the winner of American Idol or prophesy like Isaiah or pastor a church, but we can fulfill IT.
So what exactly am I talking about?
No matter the flaw, quirk, disability, or obstacle to overcome, we can be faithful to the Lord.
There is SO much that we can show faithfulness to God through.
Are you faithfully spending time in the Word of God each and every day?
Are you faithfully communing to God through prayer each and every day?
Are you faithfully going to church to worship God?
Are you faithful in tithing?
Are you faithful to your friends and family?
Are you faithful to your academics?
Are you faithful to God's ministry calling in your life?
Are you faithful in paying your bills?
Don't get lost in the experience of being a Christian. While it is a beautiful, exciting time to feel your walk with God and see the evidences of it in and around your life, remain faithful no matter how you feel. You are going to experience such a wide array of feelings and it's not safe or stable to base your "actions" towards God off fickle, human-made feelings. Remain faithful no matter what. And if you mess up (it's going to happen...), start over again!
And if it were for none other than this, be faithful because God is faithful. Remember the hymn: "Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided.Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me." Isn't that beautiful?
Whether it is through holding the door open at church every Sunday or mentoring a child each week or spending an hour of your day doing "God things," show yourself faithful to the Lord.
And I leave you with this thought: Jesus's blood, too, is faithful. Upon request, it faithfully and throughly fill every gash in your flesh. Don't we have a lot? Haven't we been hurt more times than we can count? Don't we keep falling into sin? Let the faithful blood of Christ heal and nourish you.
Don't you want the Lord to be able to say this to you when you die? "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" Matthew 25:21.
I know I do.
