This Thanksgiving has been far different than any other Thanksgiving in my whole life! It was my first big girl holiday! :)
My Thanksgiving break started out really, really well. I hung out with a friend and made apple butter into the wee hours of the night. Then, when I went back to my house to get ready for bed, a few girls sat in my room and opened up a lot. I saw different side of their personalities that I had been hoping to see for a while! So Tuesday night was full of wonderful fellowship and conversation.
On Wednesday morning, I woke up to a most delicious alarm clock--the smell of apple butter was practically hovering around my room. I wouldn't mind waking up to that every day! For lunch that day, I ate with my school's chaplain at the Hunt Club. Our conversation was rich and real and he provided a lot of insight for me about life, of course. We laughed a lot, and it was a ton of fun. :) I am so thankful for him! Later that day, I went to the store with two of my friends and we got stuff for Thanksgiving dinner. The evening was spent at a friend's house watching movies, old cartoons, and playing board games. I puddle-jumped on the way home, and I wonder if I have ever been happier. I was so, so, so happy.
This morning, I slept through my alarm clock, picked up a mocha frappe at MickyDee's, and a friend picked me up to make Thanksgiving dinner at his house. It was SO nice to be cooking again in a REAL house!! This was my first big girl Thanksgiving, and I loved loved loved cooking! I even wore an apron! So a friend and I cooked and ate together and I made him let me clean the house while he slept, then I read for a while. We went back to campus, watched Persuasion, ate pumpkin-apple-chocolate chip struessel bread, and messaged a bunch of people on Facebook to tell them we're thankful for them. Later, we're going to swinging on the president's lawn and probably call it a night.
Tomorrow, we're doing intense homework all day, watching the Little Mermaid, and playing spoons. Oh, and I for sure need to do laundry...
